Privacy policy
Last updated October 28, 2026
Karate Quest (the "game") is made by The Karate Quest team ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game and this website handle, why, and what choices you have. It covers the iPhone and iPad version, the Android version and the Roblox version.
1. The short version
- No account is needed. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, address or precise location.
- We run no analytics or tracking of our own and have no server that stores your game progress.
- We treat every player as a child. Ads are not personalised, and nothing is used to track you across other apps or websites.
- Your progress lives on your device, or with the platform you play on (Apple, Google or Roblox).
2. Information stored by the game
To remember your progress the game saves a small profile: your best score, best level, belt rank, stars collected, and number of games played.
- iPhone, iPad and Android: this is stored on your device only. We do not receive it. Deleting the game removes it.
- Roblox: progress is stored by Roblox under Roblox's own terms and privacy policy.
3. Motion sensors
On phones the game reads the accelerometer so you can flick the phone to speed the treadmill up or slow it down. The readings are processed on the device while you play. They are not stored, not sent to us and not shared with anyone.
4. Leaderboards and platform services
If you are signed in to Game Center (iPhone and iPad) or your platform's game service, the game can submit your score and belt rank to that service so it can appear on a leaderboard. Your display name on a leaderboard is the one you chose with that service. Apple, Google and Roblox handle this information under their own privacy policies, and we do not receive your account details. You can turn leaderboard sharing off in your device's or platform's settings.
5. Advertising
The iPhone, iPad and Android versions show ads from Google AdMob: a short ad between some levels and, if you choose, an optional ad you can watch to get a bonus such as an extra life or bonus points. You are never required to watch an ad to play.
- Ad requests are marked as child-directed. Ads are not personalised, the advertising identifier is not used, and only family-friendly (General rated) ads are requested.
- The game does not ask for permission to track you, because it does not track you.
- To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect limited technical information such as your device model, operating system, app version, IP address and approximate region. This is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy.
- Where the law requires consent for ads (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK) the game shows a consent form from Google. You can review ad and tracking choices in your device's privacy settings.
- The Roblox version uses only the advertising features Roblox itself provides.
6. Children
The game is designed to be suitable for a general family audience, and we treat every player as a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the age set by local law, such as 16 in parts of Europe). We do not ask for it, we do not use behavioural advertising, and the game contains no chat, social features or links that let a player contact another player.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us personal information, contact us through the support form and we will delete it. Parents can also limit in-app purchases and ad content with the controls built into iOS, Android and Roblox.
7. This website
This website does not use accounts, advertising or analytics cookies. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Heroku) records technical details of each visit, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time, in server logs. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and are kept only briefly by the host. If you send us a message through the support form, we use your name, email address and message only to reply, and the form does not store them on this website.
8. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not hold enough of it to share. The services that handle information when you play are:
- Apple (App Store, Game Center), Google (Google Play, AdMob) and Roblox, as described above.
- Heroku, which hosts this website.
We may disclose information if the law requires it.
9. How long information is kept
Progress stored on your device stays until you delete the game or clear its data. Information held by Apple, Google, Roblox or Heroku is kept according to their policies. Messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of the request.
10. Your choices and rights
- Delete your progress: delete the game from your device. For Roblox, use Roblox's own tools.
- Ads: use your device's privacy settings to limit or reset ad identifiers and to review ad choices.
- Leaderboards: sign out of Game Center or your platform's game service to stop sharing scores.
- Access, correction or deletion: because we hold almost no personal information about you, there is usually nothing for us to give or delete. If you think we hold something, contact us through the support form and we will check and respond.
- If you live in the EEA, UK or Switzerland you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability and to complain to your local data protection authority.
- If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law you have the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted and not to be treated unfairly for asking. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
11. Security
We keep as little information as we can, which is the best protection. This website is served over HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we handle.
12. International use
The game is available worldwide. Our service providers (Apple, Google, Roblox and Heroku) may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States, under their own safeguards.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, for example if the game starts collecting new kinds of information, we will say so in the game or on the website.
14. Contact us
Questions or requests about privacy? Use the support form and say which version of the game you play (iPhone, Android or Roblox). Choose "Something else" if none fits.
